Practice 1: Elf on the Shelf

So AJ is taking on a prompt a week to write a short story based on me and my world next year.  And since my story got sorta jumbled AJ is going to give us a practice run.  The goal is 3000 words by the end of the week.  Today I’ll share the prompt, tomorrow you’ll get my reaction to the prompt.  Wednesday you’ll get some notes and ideas on the prompt from AJ’s head, Thursday I’ll react to the story AJ is planning on telling.  And Friday, Sat, and Sunday we’ll post the actual unedited version of the short story in 1K bits.

We’ll see if AJ can pull off another one next week, so what would you like to see?  Keep in mind it’s a short story so it needs to be able to be done in 3 to 4 scenes and have limited cast members or at least players in the game.

So as the title suggests this week well do a Christmas themed story.  The prompt is merely Elf on the Shelf.  You’ll get more details on AJ’s take on the story on Wednesday.

  1. It’s probably my Inner Nerd peeking out of its custom made Bat Cave, but when I saw the words Elf on the Shelf, I automatically thought of a Legolas (from Lord of the Rings) figurine.

It makes me wonder who would have a Legolas figurine. Sage or Alex? Although, given his abilities, I think Sage would collect Tron figurines. So, maybe Alex? Although it would be funny if they both had one.
