History

Aura named her singleton son Ciaran Nightscale, he would take up the name Nox Knight when he ascended into Adulthood to fulfill his destiny in the Iron Veil.

(childhood) Divine Intervention — Unknown to him, the Gods had a direct influence upon his birth. His father and mother chosen, his sibling murdered in the womb, all to manipulate the souls for which he would be bound. And they still watch him today.

(adolescent) Disciple of Eldritch Anatomy — Because of his connection to the Aether, he found his way around magic and that allowed him to handle the volatile nature of harvesting and crafting with creature parts.

(young adult) Journeyman Scavenger — As his skills with butchering became better he was tasked with scavenging pieces on his own, this allowed him to hone his magical and anatomy skills.

(experience 1) Aether-Bound — as a Chorari child he was raised with the knowledge that he was different and that there were others like him, he found kinship among the Order of the First Breath.

(experience 2) The Sovereign Stitch — As a scavenger he found the best parts sometimes he could take the extras and sell, but his first build was his favorite — he still uses the sword even years later.

(experience 3) Guilt Ridden Nightmares — One night on his first solo watch he heard cries in the night for someone to help, but he couldn't leave his post. The cries grew more frantic and then gurgling followed by silence. When he ventured into the light the next day the scene was gruesome and the sight stayed with him — plagued him every night and he vowed to never let it happen again.

(Extra flaw) Severe Psammophobia A visceral, absolute aversion to loose, micro-particulate materials—specifically sand, abrasive grit, and reflective glitter.

  • The Grit: The microscopic friction threat. A single grain can jam a precision gear, ruin a delicate alchemical alignment, or scratch the smooth finish of his tools.
  • The Adhesion: The static nightmare. It sticks to skin, embeds into fabric linings, and defies meticulous cleaning. It violates his boundaries by refusing to leave.
  • The Dispersion: The visual noise. It scatters unpredictably, rendering an orderly workspace instantly contaminated and messy

The fear stems from a prank gone wrong — a fey pixie cursed his coat pocket to produce an endless amount of glitter. And not just any glitter. Fey-glitter is not only colorful but also magical, each color having it’s own unique signature that tore through his sensitive shields. Nox’s mother had to burn the coat and spread the ashes in running water in order to stop it producing fey-glitter.

(Extra Ability) Minimal Aspect Lexicon as a child Aura taught him how to encode and ritualize all magical aspects though meticulous study and practice. she taught him to channel his raw, overstimulated focus into drawing impossibly small, perfectly uniform lines of script.
