Ashbourne
The weather is still cold, but it’s slowly getting warmer with Spring well on its way. The day light hours are as long as those of the night, but the nights are getting shorter. In the Wellsorrow Region, the Shadowfell despair is fading in its cycle. The people of Ashbourne and surrounding areas are feeling happier and it’s easier to shake the despair, and harder to fall under its influence. There is a half moon in the night sky tonight.
Shadowfell Despair Check: DC 9/15
There was a darkening of Zand’s eyes. He smiled and his eyes smiled when he looked at me, but the despair of the Leech fell upon some quicker than others.
Rain looked uneffected as he removed the shiny plate, and the woman were having a stare down but still rather uneffected, but the longer Zand was near me the sadness grew deeper. I looked at Oog and the nearly empty vial in my hand. I held the vial out to him with half a smile. “This will help?”
Zand took the file between two fingers and held it up by two fingers peering into the clear vial like he could fathom the properties of the concoction and understand it all.
Rosana was quickly next to Zand, her eyes only on the vial. “What is it?” Zand asked as he tipped the vial from side to side watching the viscous liquid slide from one end to the other. The flickering candle light gave the murky green liquid a vile glow.
“Just something to help.”
“Help with what?” Zand asked.
“The sadness wrapping around you.” I said with a sigh and huddled down into my bedroll and blankets. I’d already had too much activity, I felt drained and exhausted and I wanted sleep.
A smile grew over Rosana’s lips as she sat at the edge of the bed watching now. Her eyes met mine and her smile grew big. It frightened me and I pulled my blankets up tighter against my chin.
Zand stared at me with wide blue eyes like I’d seen through his soul or worse that I had revealed his hidden secret. I dropped my gaze and pretended to go to sleep. This was all too much.
