Ashbourne

The weather is still cold, but it’s slowly getting warmer with Spring well on its way. The day light hours are as long as those of the night, but the nights are getting shorter. In the Wellsorrow Region, the Shadowfell despair is fading in its cycle. The people of Ashbourne and surrounding areas are feeling happier and it’s easier to shake the despair, and harder to fall under its influence. There is a half moon in the night sky tonight.

Shadowfell Despair Check: DC 9/15

Such a fool. Miranda watched al’Zand leave his post on the stage to chase after some ruffian. Things were replaceable. He had his lute, that’s all he needed. She’d miss the cute little outfits she’d brought, but some other person might love them more. Miranda kept all her prized possessions on her body at all times. This was nothing new. He’d learn, one way or the other.

With a strum of her lute, and the quick gesture of her hands, and the power of her song magic tickled the air. The eirey haunting of the sea. The song of sorrow and loss, everyone in this godforsaken place, knew it all too well and wouldn’t notice the additional effect her song gave to the area.

The magic drifted to the door, to a redhead who was drawn to the stage. She looked well off. A good mark. Miranda smile and met her eye. Maybe al’Zand leaving would leave a good plaything in his wake. Though if she lost him, her master would be angry. The thought sent shivers down her spine and the song quaked a moment in its spell.

But it wasn’t enough to lose the patron’s rapture and the red head still stared on. What, oh what should I do? Miranda thought to herself. So many wrong choices led her to Riva’s hand, and now… now he held it around her throat and if she didn’t do his bidding, her son might not live the life, she couldn’t give him any other way. But the boy had no money, and she’d found him once, she’d find him again — he wasn’t leaving through the docks without her knowing. She’d make sure of it.

But for now, maybe another lucrative target or a quick bouncing of the springs? A red head maybe to fleece her of her strange accoutrements?
