If your heart were damaged beyond repair, but you could regain our health for a few more years by getting a heart transplant from a genetically engineered pig, would you?
Well, the point is moot for me except maybe if someone pulled my heart out and stomped on it. But then again you should be able to put it back and it still work so burning it. I think that would kill me, but maybe a replacement heart would revive me?
I dunno. Never been done before I guess.
But if I were still mortal I would say why the fuck not. Though I don’t like the idea of killing something that was living, so not sure how that would work. I dunno. I don’t want to live at the expense of something else – engineered or otherwise.
I mean you never know what anyone else feels. A tree, an ant. You can’t know for 100% certain they don’t have some sort of consciousness. They may not be intelligent, but surely they feel something.
I don’t really know. Depends on the technology involved. I do have a problem killing other things for my own personal gain. And yes, I get that food comes from something someone else killed. But ya know it wasn’t for me specifically, this would be for me specifically. I would have a greater influence on the killing than say a cow to slaughter. I still don’t like they have to die for me, but we do the best we can.
