Love of My Life?

If it were the only way you could remain with the love of your life, would you be willing for both of you to wake up tomorrow as native speakers of an unfamiliar foreign language, knowing that within a week you’d permanently forget the languages you now speak and largely be cut off from your friends and culture? If so, what new language would you want to speak, and why?

If it were the only way I could stay with Alex for the rest of our lives? That’s a stupid question. Fuck yes! I’d figure out how to speak to my family even if it killed me. But as long as I had Alex I could manage anything. My culture I could be happy with. If I can’t understand you I can’t help you…

Yeah right, I’d work that out too. There are ways to do it all.

As to what language, I don’t care what I’d speak. As long as I could speak to Alex. But it makes me wonder if telepaths understand language? Or is it concepts and ideas they read. And if concepts and ideas were the things that a telepath reads then I’d have an extra special reason to actually try to work on using the Auspex line sworn to me as well as my boy’s own power I’ve been picking up on. Getting from three separate sources I should be able to use a little bit of it, right?

I know you said that you didn’t care what foreign language you’d speak, but, given that Nox is a fast talker anyways, I vote for Indian. Plus, it would be completely random and unexpected.

As for Ambrose in my story, he’d probably choose French. He happens to know a little bit of French, anyway. So, it would be a natural choice. Also, it would make him happy to hear his significant other speaking in French too.
